A Jungle Night's Dream

A few months ago, I had the pleasure of taking an online production class with Andrew Huang on the new Monthly platform. In many ways it really helped to grow my confidence as a producer and as an artist who can create fully polished work on his own. I’m happy to be honing these skills and think they may come to good use!

Anyway, the first track of the course was a lot of fun to work on. I got pretty immersed with this one, very much in it creatively, which was great. I can remember one night when my dad came out to hang out and I just had the loop going in the background, hopping to the keyboard to add a new idea, getting loose with it. It’s great when you love a loop so much that you can keep jamming on it for hours. When I finished the track, I went outside on my back porch and surveyed the spring landscape of peepers, wet grass, and moonlight. I felt so alive!

I hope you enjoy the track :)

One of the first fully produced tracks I've created, made as part of an online class. All the sounds are made with free software instruments assembled in Logic Pro. I'm new to production, so I'll likely be back to touch up the mix in the future :) Enjoy!
